Your new companyWe have partnered exclusively with an institute who are seeking an interim to come and steer the Procurement department. They are a vibrant, dynamic and innovating organisation who look to support and transform the lives of those they represent from the community. Your new roleAssist the CFO with the financial management of the institute, leading the day-to-day procurement function, ensuring the team delivers an outstanding and effective service to all staff. The postholder plays a central role in advising the CFO on all procurement issues and supplier contract management.

  • Working on strategic tenders, ensuring delivery is to plan and timely in delivery.
  • Liaising with key stakeholders to ensure value for money (VFM) is achieved across procurement activities.
  • Ensuring that all relevant college staff are trained, advised on, and follow all relevant procurement procedures in line with the Financial Regulations and the Procurement Act.
  • Maintain a tendering system to allow independent tenders to be run in line with relevant Financial Regulations, and the Procurement Act 2023 (effective Feb 2025)
  • Implementing procurement strategy
  • Saving money by tendering major contracts
  • Managing key supplier relationships and evaluating performance of key contracts

What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience of managing procurement bids from initiation through negotiation to implementation
  • In-depth experience of procurement procedures and methods
  • Experience of public sector procurement frameworks to maximise value for money.
  • Working practical knowledge of PCR15 and PA23
  • Site-based role and must be able to travel to the Swindon office 3/4 times per week with 1-2 days working from home.
