Cedar are exclusively supporting a Public Sector client who are looking to hire a Procurement Policy Officer. This role is a permanent job opportunity with a salary of £31,797 on offer. The role also offers 28 Days Annual Leave (plus Bank Holidays), CIPS Funding (on completion of your probation period) and an Employer Pension Contribution of 26%. These roles offer flexible hybrid working, as the role will be mainly Home Based, but you will be required to go into the office in either Swindon or Newport 1 day per week.

Reporting into the Head of Category, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that there is proper compliance with the overall Category Sourcing Strategy, Procurement and Contract Procedure Rules, Financial Regulations, and UK Legislation on public procurement and contract management. The role will require you to respond/manage FOI's, Policy Development/Review and managing templates to ensure accuracy. This role also offers a lot of great training and development opportunities.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Relevant degree, a degree in law would be advantageous, or a professional qualification related to procurement
  • Understanding of Public Sector Procurement Policy and the upcoming changes in the Procurement Act
  • Strong attention to detail and good communication skills
