We are seeking a responsible and dedicated Waste Collection Driver to join our clients team. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining allocated vehicles, ensuring safe and efficient collection of waste in accordance with health and safety guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine vehicle checks, maintenance, and cleaning.
  • Safely transport goods, equipment, and personnel; assist with loading/unloading as needed.
  • Complete and submit daily paperwork, updating in-cab technology with collection details and non-collection reasons.
  • Collect waste according to the daily schedule, adjusting for unforeseen circumstances when necessary.
  • Supervise the crew and ensure assisted collections are completed as scheduled.
  • Report any accidents, damage, or near misses promptly.
  • Maintain tachograph records (where applicable) and ensure accuracy.
  • Train and supervise new and temporary workers.
  • Ensure excellent customer care, including proper waste loading, gate closure, spill clean-up, and returning bins to their original position.

Requirements:

  • Experience of driving refuse / recycling vehicles.
  • Holds a current HGV licence.
  • Experience of completing daily log sheets and tachograph / books.
  • Able to operate electronic ICT systems.
  • Experience of collecting and recycling rubbish
