Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Are you a hands-on, proactive individual with a passion for maintaining safe and efficient facilities?

I have been requested to recruit a dedicated Facilities Officer to join our client and play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of their school premises.

About the Role:

As a Facilities Officer, you will support the Facilities Manager in maintaining a secure, clean, and well-functioning school environment. From general maintenance and security to supporting school events, your work will contribute to creating a safe and welcoming space for students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with maintenance, repairs, and porterage to ensure the school is in top condition.
  • Support site security, including locking/unlocking buildings and responding to call-outs.
  • Undertake tasks such as decorating, waste management, and general site upkeep.
  • Assist with health & safety compliance and ensure regulations are met.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, suppliers, and contractors to improve operational performance.
  • Act as a first aider and, when required, be the responsible first aider.
  • Deputise for the Facilities Manager when necessary.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience in facilities management, maintenance, or a similar role.
  • Knowledge of health & safety regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
  • A team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to work flexibly, including occasional evenings for events.
  • Basic technical skills for fault-finding and minor repairs.
