Graduate Business Development Manager - Main Contractors

Basic Salary:£35k - £45k + bonus (OTE £65k - £75k), company car, mobile, laptop, pension, etc.

The Company

A leading manufacturer of specialist construction products known for innovation and quality is looking to appoint a Graduate Business Development Manager. This role aims to foster growth and identify new opportunities within the construction sector.

The Role
  • Business Development:Identify and convert prospects within the defined area, focusing on main building contractors and major projects.
  • Account Management:Develop existing main contractor accounts through effective relationship management.
  • Market Opportunities:Identify and develop market sector opportunities for product applications.
  • Sales Enquiries:Create and service sales enquiries in a new business development situation.
  • Reporting:Report on sales activities with main contractors and provide relevant information to sales management.
  • Customer Interaction:Spend the majority of your time on the road, meeting customers face-to-face and proactively servicing their business needs.
  • Focus:Actively win, retain, and grow the business with professional support from your team and colleagues.
The Candidate
  • Ambitious and Committed:A confident, enthusiastic, resilient, and goal-oriented individual with strong account management skills and a keen interest in business development within the construction sector.
  • Professional:Ability to build relationships and influence at all levels within construction projects.
  • Persuasive and Creative:Naturally persuasive, creative, and self-motivated, able to recognize opportunities and use your initiative to convert these into sales.
  • Communication Skills:Excellent communication and presentation skills, along with strong negotiation, commercial, and analytical abilities.
  • Commercial Awareness:Ideally, some experience or exposure to sales within a technical environment, selling to site, contractor, and construction companies.
  • Self-Confident:Demonstrates excellent face-to-face communication skills.
  • Quality Focused:A commercial approach with a clear focus on standards and quality.
