About the RoleAcademics Ltd is currently recruiting for Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across Swindon. This role is ideal for someone with a Performing Arts background looking to take the next step in their career. As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of lessons during teacher absences, while offering support and encouragement to students. This is a fantastic opportunity to utilise your Performing Arts skills in an educational setting, inspire students, and build valuable experience within the secondary education sector.

We welcome applications from Performing Arts graduates and those with a background in Theatre, Drama, or Music who are passionate about education. Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support students during lessons in the absence of the regular teacher
  • Ensure that students remain on task and maintain good behaviour
  • Assist students in completing work set by the class teacher

  • Ensure all work is completed in a timely manner and provide feedback to the class teacher
  • Support students with individual learning needs and create an inclusive classroom atmosphere

Key Requirements

  • A degree in any Performing Arts discipline (Drama, Theatre, Music, etc.) is highly desirable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for working with young people and supporting their development
  • Ability to manage classroom behaviour and maintain a productive learning environment
  • Prior experience in education or working with young people is beneficial but not essential
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work
