Fire Alarm Engineer - Swindon - 32k-40k

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Fire Alarm Engineer to join their team, covering the Swindon area. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and servicing of Fire Detection & Alarm systems, Emergency Lighting systems, and Portable Fire Extinguishers. You will ensure that all systems comply with current regulations and industry standards, delivering high-quality service to our client's customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Service and maintenance of fire detection and alarm systems in commercial, industrial, and residential properties.
  • Perform scheduled testing, inspections, and remedial works on emergency lighting systems.
  • Carry out regular checks and maintenance of portable fire extinguishers, ensuring compliance with BS 5306 and relevant standards.
  • Diagnose and resolve faults, ensuring all systems are fully operational.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to clients, advising on best practices for fire safety.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with British Standards (BS 5839) for fire alarms and BS 5266 for emergency lighting.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring clear documentation of work carried out.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.

Requirements:

  • Experience in the maintenance and servicing of fire detection & alarm systems, emergency lighting, and portable fire extinguishers.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, including BS 5839, BS 5266, and BS 5306.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and fix system issues efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
  • Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
  • Relevant qualifications in fire alarm and emergency lighting systems (desirable).
