Mental Health Assistant - Full Time - Swindon

We are working alongside a brilliant school in Swindon who are looking for a passionate individual to take on a Mental Health Assistant role this October term. The school cater to students with additional needs regarding social, emotional and mental health challenges. The students at the school benefit from consistent encouragement and guidance, meaning the Mental Health Assistant role is a truly rewarding position.

The Mental Health Assistant's responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing therapeutic techniques
  • Creating a safe space for students to express themselves
  • Observing and identifying potential triggers leading to challenging behaviour
  • Collaborating with class teachers to adjust learning material
  • Acting as a role model to students

The school is dedicated to creating a safe space for students to explore and develop their independence. The children attending the school face challenges such as social and communication difficulties and mental health difficulties. As a Mental Health Assistant, you will be a key component of their success. You will be involved in helping these vulnerable students develop healthy coping mechanisms and communication techniques.
