Teacher Active is proud to be working with a SEND school in Swindon, supporting with their recruitment for a SEND Learning Support Assistant / LSA. This setting supports children with varied diagnosis through 1:1 tutoring and alternative learning provisions. The school upholds a high standard of education, placing emphasised importance on the provision of social, emotional and mental health-centred programmes that help students to thrive and reach their full potential.  We are looking for a dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistant / LSA who can make a positive impact in the lives of individuals with Autism/ASD and ADHD.

The school is seeking a passionate and driven individual to take on this long-term role, although there is potential for this to become a permanent placement for the right SEND Learning Support Assistant / LSA. Every day is different, filled with the opportunity to learn and grow. The successful candidate will bring a new perspective and skill set to this role, be eager to develop their own skills to adapt to the pupils’ individual needs and have a positive impact on the school.

The position will involve working with students across all Key Stages with diagnosis of Autism / ASD, ADHD, SLD / Severe Learning Difficulties, and challenging behaviours. A proactive thinker with great organisation and the ability to take control of situations confidently is necessary.

The successful SEND Learning Support Assistant / LSA will have:

  • Experience working with children with additional needs / disabilities
  • Experience working with students with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) and challenging behaviours
  • Level 2 or 3 CACHE or equivalent
  • Team-Teach or MAPA qualifications desirable
