An amazing academy in Swindon, Wiltshire have an opportunity available for a recent psychology or criminology graduate to join their team as a Student Mental Health Worker and kick-start their career. The school focus on providing a safe environment for children with social, emotional and mental health needs to access education and learn independence. The Student Mental Health Worker role will consist of providing consistent support and encouragement to children on a 1-1 basis. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in helping these children achieve their potential, coaching them through self-regulation techniques, healthy coping mechanisms and identifying triggers in advance.

The Student Mental Health Worker position would be highly beneficial to a graduate wanting to follow a career in psychology or criminology due to the frontline experience supporting young people from diverse backgrounds, many suffering developmental trauma relating to neglect or mistreatment. This position provides graduates with an opportunity to see where their career could lead to due to the interaction with on-site psychologists, safeguarding officers, occupational therapists and other professionals. The Student Mental Health Worker will be responsible for acting as a role model to the students and giving them guidance regarding educational and non-academic challenges.
