We are currently seeking a highly skilled Workday Financials Functional Lead to play a pivotal role in a major Oracle to Workday implementation project, focusing on both Financials and HCM. This role involves leading a workstream through the entire project lifecycle, from design to Business-As-Usual (BAU) phase, ensuring the successful implementation of Workday Financials while supporting a seamless transition for the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end Workday Financials implementation, guiding the team through design, configuration, testing, and deployment phases.
- Work closely with a Systems Integrator (SI) to ensure optimal performance and timely delivery of the project, meeting both business requirements and technical specifications.
- Oversee the Workday Financials workstream, ensuring alignment with business objectives and that all deliverables are completed to a high standard.
- Manage and lead a team of analysts, ensuring effective collaboration and support across the project.
- Facilitate training sessions for the existing Oracle support team, helping them transition from Oracle to Workday Financials.
- Ensure that the implementation is running on time and in line with the agreed scope, while actively mitigating any risks or blockers.
- Provide expert guidance on best practices for Workday Financials, sharing your expertise with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Engage with business leaders to ensure the system's configuration aligns with their needs and optimises business processes.
- Regularly report on progress, ensuring that any issues are escalated and resolved in a timely manner.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in a Workday Financials Functional Lead role, with a deep understanding of Workday Financials and HCM modules.
- Demonstrated experience in end-to-end implementation of Workday Financials, from the design phase through to BAU.
- Experience working closely with System Integrators (SI) to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and guide a team of analysts.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience in training and guiding support teams.
- Ability to prioritise tasks, manage multiple workstreams, and keep projects on track to meet deadlines.
- Strong understanding of business processes and how to optimise them through Workday Financials.
- Proven track record of delivering successful Workday implementations on time and within scope.
Desirable Experience:
- Prior experience working on a large-scale Oracle to Workday migration project.
- Familiarity with Workday HCM modules as well as Financials.
- Change management experience, particularly in training and supporting teams through a system transition.
