Emergency Duty Social Worker/ AMHP
About the Role
The Emergency Duty Service (EDS) is the first point of contact for urgent child protection and vulnerable adult concerns outside of normal office hours. Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Worker to join their team and play a crucial role in safeguarding their community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct urgent child protection investigations and risk assessments.
- Make immediate decisions to safeguard children, including placing them in emergency care.
- Prepare and submit urgent court applications.
- Represent the Council in court proceedings to protect children and vulnerable adults.
- Collaborate closely with police, health, and other agencies to ensure a coordinated response.
- Provide crisis intervention and support to families in need.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified Social Work England registration.
- Minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience in child protection or mental health.
- Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) qualification.
- Strong assessment and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
