About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Platform Engineer to design, manage, and optimize enterprise platform infrastructure supporting critical business operations. This includes networking, compute, and storage components, as well as enterprise technologies such as Active Directory, SCCM, SolarWinds, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), and User Access Devices (UADs).

A key focus of this role is leveraging automation to enhance operational efficiency, reduce manual effort, and ensure the scalability and reliability of platform services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and manage enterprise-grade platform components, including servers, networks, and storage systems.
  • Administer and maintain supporting technologies like Active Directory, SCCM, SolarWinds, and VDI solutions to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Automate repetitive tasks, infrastructure provisioning, and monitoring using tools such as PowerShell, Python, Ansible, or Terraform.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize the platform infrastructure to meet business requirements and SLAs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support unified access devices (UADs), endpoint management, and virtualised environments.
  • Develop and implement workflows and automation scripts to streamline system updates, patching, and deployments.
  • Ensure platform compliance with security policies, industry standards, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including architecture diagrams, runbooks, and operational procedures.
  • Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and processes to improve platform efficiency and reliability.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for platform-level projects, providing technical leadership and mentorship to other teams.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and respond to incidents to minimise downtime and disruptions.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Strong experience with Hypervisor and Storage (Nutanix highly desirable).
  • Base knowledge of networking concepts (e.g., DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and firewalls).
  • Experience with backup solutions (Veeam ideal).
  • 5+ years of experience in platform engineering, infrastructure management, or a related role.
  • Expertise in managing Active Directory, SCCM, SolarWinds, and other enterprise-level technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools and frameworks such as Ansible, Terraform.
  • Strong knowledge of scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, or Bash, with experience developing and deploying automation solutions.
  • Experience with virtualisation platforms such as VMware, Citrix, or Hyper-V.
  • Familiarity with IT monitoring tools and processes for capacity planning and performance tuning.
  • Experience with endpoint management and UAD ecosystems in enterprise environments.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.
  • Certifications like MCSE, VMware VCP, or ITIL are highly desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis and resolution.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with diverse technical teams.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage complex systems and processes effectively.
  • A proactive mindset and passion for staying current with emerging technologies and automation practices.
