What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading and managing the Short Breaks program to ensure safe, compliant, and enriching care experiences for children and young people with SEND
  • Acting as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, overseeing both safeguarding and administrative staff
  • Developing and implementing a Strategic Development Plan for the Short Breaks service, including budget management and staff performance
  • Planning and delivering activities that promote equality and meet all regulatory standards
  • Managing the recruitment, training, and performance of staff to ensure high-quality care and service delivery
  • Ensuring compliance with Ofsted registration and other relevant regulations
  • Building and nurturing relationships with families, schools, and external agencies

About You

  • Be able to do the job as described
  • Have experience managing services for children and young people with SEND, with at least a Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, Childcare, or a related field
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and management skills in a care or educational setting
  • Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Ideally be Team Teach trained, although training can be provided
  • Hold a valid driver’s license, with the willingness to travel between sites around Swindon and drive a minibus as needed
