Grounds Maintenance Supervisor

Location: Symington, KA1 5PU, Ayrshire.
Salary: £23,127 per annum pro rata.
Contract: Fixed Term (3 months). 35 hours per week.

Hansel are a leading social care charity with various sites located across Ayrshire, offering a range of personalised support choices to over 600 people each year.

Our dedicated Grounds Maintenance Team provide a responsive and professional service across our site at Broadmeadows, Symington.  We have an opportunity for a Grounds Maintenance Supervisor to join our team on a full-time, fixed term basis.

You will be required to supervise the Grounds Maintenance team in  maintaining the estate grounds at Broadmeadows to a high standard. The successful candidate will fulfil the obligations of external contracts with regards to maintaining customer’s gardens and meeting customer orders in line with pre-planned maintenance programmes, work schedules and projects.

To be successful in this role you should have:

•  Supervisory experience in grounds maintenance in appropriate horticultural environments
•  Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•  A relevant Horticultural/Grounds maintenance qualification and/or equivalent experience
•  Experience of horticultural vehicles and equipment e.g. ride on mowers, small tractors, grass cutters and strimmers
•  Sound understanding of health and safety and an ability to carry out and supervise tasks in line with recognised health and safety procedures
•  An ability to plan, organise, prioritise and respond flexibly to changing demands
•  Values in line with the ethos of Hansel as well as a respect for diversity, acting as a role model to others at all times
•  Basic IT skills
