Software Controls Engineer – Yorkshire

I am currently recruiting on behalf of a key global client based in Yorkshire, who are a global leading automation machinery manufacturer. They operate in the design, manufacture and installation of special purpose automated machinery into fast paced FMCG, pharma, medical and green energy industries.

Due to continued growth, projects, and investment, they are looking for experienced Software Controls Engineer to join their team on an interim basis. Initially this contract/project is for 3-6 months.

For the position of Software Controls Engineer, you will require to conduct the following daily duties:

  • Responsible for the development and editing of code, on new and existing machinery
  • Developing new modules
  • Development of new features through the development of code, to meet customer requirements and operational needs
  • Low level interface conducting the whole process from scratch
  • Utilising some blocks from existing library and standard platforms
  • Working on technical automation and robotics, servo-driven applications, and motion control etc.
  • Taking machines through FATs and SATs

The successful person will need to have the following attributes:

  • Experienced on Siemens TIA Portal and/or Allen Bradley Rockwell
  • Winn CC, Unified HMI
  • Siemens S120 & S210 etc
  • Safety controls
  • Familiarity with fast paced servo-driven automation/robotics to a high standard
  • HNC/HND/Degree level electrical/software/systems Engineering or similar ideally
  • Flexibility in the role to work, in the factory on design, and build, problem solving etc
  • Flexibility to travel to customer sites (UK/Worldwide) to install and commission
