Service Engineer

M4 Recruitment are working with a leading provider of materials handling solutions.

We are seeking a Service Engineer to start on a permanent basis happy to travel within a 60 mile radius fault finding and repairing forklift trucks.

General duties to include:

• Carry out thorough examinations on various makes and models of trucks.
• Service various makes and models of trucks.
• Fill out paperwork to support repair giving part numbers and description of what has been done accurately.
• Use mobile phone as a PDA to pick up jobs for the entire day and follow on throughout the rest of the week.
• Liaise with office staff as to any major issues or difficulties whilst out on the road.
• Telephone support always available through our office team should help be needed.
• Pick up parts from RG7 4RT. (If parts are sent to site a site contact will be given and collected on arrival)
• Follow Health and Safety guidelines whilst on premises including Fire alarm protocol.
• Responsible for the stock on the van and ordering parts as needed, maintaining a clean vehicle and driving appropriately.
•  Six monthly van stock- take to ensure accuracy and restock common stock parts.
• Will need to attend any meetings with Service manager that are needed e.g., updates or training etc.

Essential skills:

• Full clean driving licence. 
• Ability to work alone and fault find.
• Able to travel reasonable distances for work.
• Able to follow procedures and follow policies.
• Ideally 3 years mechanic experience.
• Fault find electrical and electronic issues.
