Spinwell is recruiting for a Principal Procurement Manager for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PRINCIPAL PROCUREMENT MANAGER

Drive, implement and execute Category Management, Strategic Sourcing and Supplier Relationship Management for a complex group of categories, with the ultimate objective of leveraging and securing supplier base to support its current and future business requirements, whilst mitigating risks. The Principal Category Manger is accountable for the end to end category performance for the category group and for driving and managing multimillion-pound Procurements.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE PRINCIPAL PROCUREMENT MANAGER

  • Experience of working in a Procurement Project/Programme environment.
  • Experience of contract regulations, negotiating contracts and/or managing contracts and suppliers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Experience of working as an effective team member and able to develop effective relationships with key stakeholders
  • Strong Public Sector Procurement experience
  • Experience of working in a Public Sector Commercial Team and managing the procurement process
  • Portfolio planning
  • Asset management knowledge/experience
  • Must be a strong communicator able to deliver results by proactive, positive, and persuasive means.
  • Ability to challenge preconceived expectations and provide alternative effective solutions.
  • Effective organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to make sound judgements/decisions based on available evidence.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office, including Excel.
