Management Accountant - Tamworth £34,000 - £36,000Gleeson Recruitment Group is working with a well established and growing business to recruit an experienced Management Accountant. This is a hands on role where you'll take ownership of the day to day financial operations, ensuring accuracy across the ledgers and supporting the production of management accounts and group reporting.This role is perfect for someone who enjoys a mix of leadership and hands on finance work, with the opportunity to make an impact in a supportive environment.Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining the fixed asset register
  • Preparing and posting accruals and prepayments
  • Handling intercompany reporting and reconciliations
  • Assisting with year-end accounts preparation and audits
  • Analysing overhead expenditure
  • Conducting credit checks and maintaining customer credit limits
  • Managing the nominal ledger, including reviewing entries made by the bookkeeper for accuracy.
  • Handling cash and bank processes, including Direct Debit management, nominal cashbook postings, and bank reconciliations.
  • Overseeing supplier payments, including reconciliations and generating payment runs for approval.
  • Supporting VAT returns and reconciliations.
  • Providing cover and support across the finance team when needed.

Candidate Attributes and Skills

  • AAT ; Part Qualified ; QBE Level 4 qualification
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills with high attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Excel and experience with Sage (or similar accounting software)
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and guide colleagues on financial processes
