Are you a scientist or engineer, with a commercial mindset and brilliant at building relationships? As our Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for the sales of equipment and materials for New-Gen Energy and Material Processing Research, R&D, and quality assurance applications across the UK and Ireland. You will seek out new business opportunities while also nurturing and adding value to our existing customer base. Plus, you will have the support of a Sales Support Assistant to help you succeed.

We are a family-owned group who specialise in the supply of specialist Material Processing Equipment and Advanced Materials. Our customers range from academic researchers and lab managers to manufacturers, and we pride ourselves on working collaboratively to help them achieve their goals. With an innate curiosity, we constantly evolve our product range and explore novel applications for our products.

We are a global supplier of materials and equipment and, as Business Development Manager, you will be joining our team who work together with our clients to enable them to achieve their specific objectives.

What you'll do:

  • Drive sales: Exceed revenue targets by effectively positioning our company as the go to supplier for the products we provide
  • Secure new business: Identify and target potential opportunities and achieve new customer growth
  • Build lasting relationships: By understanding our customers’ unique goals and providing the best solution for them
  • Provide exceptional customer service: Utilise our deep understanding of science, engineering, procurement, and customs requirements to ensure our customers receive their order right first time and on time
  • Be a Company Champion: You’ll represent us not only through direct communication and customer visits but also at exhibitions, conferences, networking, and prestige, invite only events
  • Stay ahead of the curve: Keep abreast of the latest trends and developments within next-gen energy and advanced materials
  • Partner with industry leaders: Collaborate closely with our global manufacturing network to deliver exceptional quality, value, cost-effective solutions, and technical support

You will have:

  • Proven sales success: At least 2 years of B2B sales experience in a technical or scientific field. We would also welcome applications from early-career professionals suited to a Graduate Business Development Executive role.
  • Science or engineering background: A minimum of a 2:1 Bachelor degree in Materials Science, Metallurgy, Chemistry, Physics, or a closely related field
  • Passion for change: A genuine interest in energy and material science, and a drive to contribute to ground-breaking discoveries
  • Strong communication skills: The ability to build rapport, influence stakeholders, and effectively present our products
  • Ambition and drive: A self-motivated and purposeful mindset focused on achieving your revenue targets
  • An innately inquisitive brain: Allowing you to stay up to date with current scientific and technology developments
  • Out of the Box Mindset: You can develop and execute innovative sales strategies that stand out from the norm
  • Ability to travel: Being out and about is part of the role, and will mean time spent away from home
