Reed Specialist Recruitment is working on behalf of a growing OEM client to find a proactive individual for a multifaceted engineering role. This position is an excellent opportunity for an engineering apprentice looking to transition into a production management and NPI-related role. It is crucial for the delivery of customer orders from New Product Introduction (NPI), through design to production and manufacturing setup. Day-to-day of the role:

  • Manipulate designs using SolidWorks to meet project specifications.
  • Create and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) for projects.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Design and Manufacturing Departments.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of project materials and components.
  • Kit project parts and handle procurement of necessary materials.
  • Collaborate with the Project Management team to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • An engineering apprenticeship or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience working in an engineering environment, preferably in Machine Shop, Toolroom, or Assembly.
  • Strong understanding of technical principles and project management fundamentals.
  • Experience in providing quotations, estimates, or procurement.
  • Proficiency in business management systems including databases, ERP, and spreadsheets (Microsoft and Google systems).
  • Demonstrated ability to develop key customer relationships and operate in a commercial environment.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive and creative approach to problem-solving.
