Specialist teaching assistant - B77

Position: Specialist Teaching Assistant

Location: Tamworth

Contract: Full-time, starting ASAP

Monthly take home: Ā£1600-1800 GBP (working full time on a day rate)

Prospero Teaching is collaborating with a specialised school in Lichfield to recruit committed SEN Teaching Assistants. This school caters to students aged 11 to 19 who have Education, Health, and Care Plans, each presenting a unique set of learning challenges.

The student body includes individuals with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and autism. The school prides itself on a flexible curriculum that emphasizes creativity, providing students with vital educational experiences. Facilities include a sports hall, a fully equipped kitchen, engineering classrooms, an art workshop, and a school shop, all accessible to students on a daily basis.

Successful candidates may also have the opportunity to conduct one-on-one or small group therapeutic interventions to further support student learning and development.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience working with SEN, SEMH, or SEND students
  • A strong passion for education
  • A positive 'can-do' attitude
  • Adaptability and versatility in various situations
  • A genuine eagerness to support vulnerable young individuals
  • Previous experience with young people
  • A current and clear DBS check, or a willingness to obtain one
  • Commitment to Continuous Professional Development (CPD)

  • Accredited continued professional development courses including safeguarding and behaviour management
  • In-house Training and Development Team

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references that cover the last 2 years
