About the Role:As a Accounts Manager, you'll play a key role in managing the finance function, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations while supporting management accounts and group reporting. You'll oversee transactions, ensure accurate postings, and contribute to financial analysis and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee all aspects of the nominal ledger
- Process accruals, prepayments, and maintain the fixed asset register
- Analyse overhead expenditure and provide insights
- Assist in year-end accounts preparation and external audit
- Support VAT returns, intercompany reporting, and reconciliations
- Review transactions processed by the bookkeeper
- Manage direct debits and nominal cashbook postings
- Reconcile supplier accounts and generate payments for approval
- Reconcile bank accounts and invoice discounting accounts
- Conduct credit checks and maintain customer credit limits
- Provide cover and support across the finance team
- AAT Level 4, part-qualified ACCA/CIMA, or QBE with relevant experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
- Excellent Excel skills and attention to detail
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
- Sage or similar accounting software experience
- Strong communication skills and ability to guide others
