Macildowie is delighted to be working with an Education Trust in Tamworth to appoint a new Finance Manager to provide financial leadership and support to a large school.

Reporting into the Trust's Head of Finance, you will supervise a small team in the provision of value-add financial management, supporting the senior leadership team in managing the school's budgets.

Your key responsibilities will include

  • Preparation of the monthly management accounts pack, including forecasting and variance analysis.
  • Working with non-financial service heads to provide guidance and support over budget monitoring and management
  • Supporting in the development of the medium term strategic plan
  • Accruals and prepayments
  • Management of the payroll and transactional finance function
  • Management of the VAT returns and monthly bank reconciliations
  • Contribute to the wider Trust's financial plan
  • Regulatory returns and educational funding management

The ideal candidate will be a confident and professional finance professional with a wide-ranging skillset gained within a similar role. You will be AAT qualified (or equivalent) and have led small teams previously and be able to demonstrate a pro-active approach to financial management, working with non-finance budget holders to provide guidance and support.

As this is a school-based role, you will be expected to be in the office five days per week during term time but there is some flexibility for hybrid working during school holidays.
