Inbound Logistics Planner

Our Tamworth based client is looking for an Inbound Logistics Planner. Your role will be to manage inbound deliveries to ensure cost effective and timely receipts of goods to meet the business requirements.

As an Inbound Logistics Planner, you will need to have/be:

  • Excellent administration skills
  • High attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
  • Analytical with the ability to multitask and prioritise workload to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as on own initiative
  • Hard working and highly motivated
  • Flexible and able to follow instructions
  • Logistics knowledge would be an advantage

Details:

  • Salary: £24, 000 - £25, 000
  • Working Hours: 40 hours per week Monday - Friday
  • Location: Tamworth (on site)

Role of Inbound Logistics Planner:

  • Ensure correct shipping documents are sent to forwarders in time to generate correct Duty and VAT invoices
  • Ensue Duty VAT are invoiced correctly, and invoices are paid promptly to ensure on-time deliveries and to avoid demurrage
  • Validate freight invoices and rectify the problems
  • Understand the trend of freight costs
  • Communicate with logistics providers to stay informed of the market changes
  • Liaise with logistics providers for the best possible rates for air, land and sea shipments from a portfolio of suppliers
  • Coordinate and schedule inbound deliveries
  • Arrange quotes and schedules for containers
  • Troubleshoot shipping issues e.g. shipping routes, delayed items and rush orders
  • Reconcile and verify receiving documents including Invoices, Packing Lists, Bill of Lading
  • Update shipment calendar
  • Prepare labels for Warehouse
  • Book stock on system
  • Arrange deliveries of material/samples to suppliers overseas
  • Prepare GRN (Goods Received Note) reports to Accounts weekly
  • General office administration duties
