Head of Commercial Finance

Tamworth

Seeking a fully qualified accounting professional to deliver full-spectrum commercial finance support across various business channels, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Pricing, Reporting, and project management. The role will focus on driving and analysing commercial performance, particularly on Sales and Margin optimisation by managing a team of qualified FBP's. Experience with the C-suite of a large business is essential.

Key Responsibilities for the Head of Commercial Finance:

  • Oversee the forecasting, budgeting, and target-setting processes for business channels.
  • Act as the primary finance liaison for Sales & Margin performance throughout the organisation.
  • Collaborate with the CCO to implement channel strategies and enhance overall performance.
  • Develop profit models, conduct in-depth reporting, and offer insights with detailed analysis and commentary.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancing channel performance, such as profitability analysis and evaluating business models.
  • Partner with line commercial, reporting, and finance teams to ensure reporting is reliable, consistent, and follows a unified approach.
  • Enhance reporting by adding insights and analysis, including exception reporting, to improve management's understanding of performance.
  • Assess and support business cases and initiatives that promote sales growth and improve channel profitability.
  • Create scenario analyses for multiple potential business outcomes.
  • Provide additional analysis and support as required.

The Head of Commercial Finance will ideally have/be:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience with relevant financial qualifications.
  • Proven expertise in stakeholder management and relationship building.
  • Strong ability to present data and insights to various audiences, including at the Executive level.
  • Highly analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, suited to both internal and external environments.
  • Skilled at managing multiple tasks and balancing competing priorities.
  • Willingness to work beyond standard hours when necessary.
