Accounts Assistant – Credit Controller
  • Location: Tamworth, Head Office
  • Job Type: Full-time - Office Based
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30am to 5:00pm

We are seeking an Accounts Assistant – Credit Controller to provide a professional and efficient service to our clients Finance Department. This role involves administering the sales ledger, ensuring timely collection of debts, and assisting with general accounting duties.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Contact customers to request or chase payment and resolve any invoice queries in collaboration with the relevant departments.
  • Raise credit notes and review order requests as needed.
  • Open new customer accounts and perform credit checks.
  • Issue and manage manual/service invoices and debt collection procedures.
  • Allocate payments received to maintain ledger accounts.
  • Handle data entry, manage petty cash, and perform credit card and fuel card reconciliations.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations, post cashbook entries, and handle Intrastat reporting.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Significant experience in a financial environment, particularly in a sales ledger role.
  • Excellent communication skills, adept at debt collecting and query resolution.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and good commercial acumen.
  • Self-disciplined, efficient, proactive, and confident in nature.
