As the Storeman, your primary responsibility is to oversee the efficient management of parts within the warehouse. Your role involves accurate inspection and placement of incoming parts, as well as picking and dispatching customer orders promptly and accurately. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean and organised workshop environment.Your attention to detail, organisation skills and commitment to maintaining a well-functioning warehouse will contribute to the overall effectiveness and success of the company's operations.To be  Success you will need a reasonable level of fitness and hold an FLT license.Key Responsibilities:Parts Management:
  • Check parts delivered against goods received notes, ensuring accuracy and completeness of the received items.
  • Store parts in the correct designated locations within the warehouse, maintaining an organised inventory system.
Order Fulfilment:
  • Pick parts accurately for customer orders, cross-checking with the despatch note to ensure order accuracy.
  • Pack parts securely to prevent damage during transit, utilising appropriate packaging materials and techniques.
 Workshop Parts Accountability:
  • Account for any parts used in the workshop, ensuring accurate record-keeping and timely communication with the Spare Parts Manager for stock updates.
  • Collaborate with the Mechanical Engineers to provide necessary parts support and assistance as required.
Year-End Stock Take:
  • Collaborate with the Spare Parts Manager, Factory Manager and Finance Director during the year-end stock take, providing necessary assistance and coordinating stock-related activities.
 Equipment Operation:
  • Safely operate forklift trucks and scissor lifts when required, adhering to all relevant safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Carry out tasks at heights following appropriate safety measures and procedures.
Yard and Workshop Maintenance:
  • Sweep the yard and workshops to maintain cleanliness and tidiness, ensuring a safe and organised working environment.
  • Empty bins regularly, disposing of waste materials in accordance with established procedures and waste management guidelines.
 Health and Safety Compliance:
  • Comply with stated policies and procedures relating to Health and Safety at all times, prioritising personal safety and promoting a safe working environment.
  • Adhere to relevant regulations, guidelines and best practices to ensure the well-being of all employees and visitors.
 Continuous Improvement:
  • Seek opportunities to enhance warehouse operations, suggesting process improvements and contributing to efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to implement best practices and optimise workflows.
Adherence to Company Policies:
  • Follow company policies, procedures and guidelines to maintain operational standards and support the overall success of the organisation.
Additional Duties:
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as directed by the line manager, contributing to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the warehouse and sales operations.
Key Performance Indicators:
  • Workspace Safety and Tidiness: Maintain a tidy and organised workspace, minimising hazards and ensuring a safe working environment. Aim for low levels of incidents and receive minimal flags from Health and Safety Inspector visits.
  • Accurate and Prompt Order Fulfilment: Ensure correct parts are picked and packed promptly for dispatch, reducing the occurrence of customer complaints related to incorrect orders or delays. Strive for high levels of order accuracy and on-time delivery.
  • Timely Goods Booking and Stock Accuracy: Book in goods promptly and accurately to maintain up-to-date and accurate stock levels. Ensure timely communication to the Spare Parts Manager regarding stock information, enabling effective management of inventory and order fulfilment.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Monitor and strive for low levels of customer complaints related to incorrect orders or delays. Seek feedback from Spare Parts Manager and promptly address any concerns to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Effective Communication and Collaboration: Foster strong communication and collaboration with the Spare Parts Manager and other relevant stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate information flow. Promptly share relevant details regarding goods booked in, stock levels and any inventory-related matters.
  • Inventory Accuracy and Efficiency: Maintain high levels of inventory accuracy through timely goods booking, regular stock checks, and effective communication of stock information. Strive for minimal stock discrepancies and timely updates to support efficient order fulfilment.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Comply with stated policies and procedures relating to Health and Safety at all times, prioritising personal safety and promoting a safe working environment. Aim for low levels of incidents, accidents, and safety-related issues within the workspace.
  • Continuous Improvement: Seek opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness in order fulfilment and stock management processes. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to implement best practices and optimise workflows.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Ensure accurate and timely documentation of goods booking, stock movements and other relevant records. Maintain proper records to support inventory management, order tracking and reporting requirements. Strive for minimal stock discrepancies.
