Duties:

  • Support the Land Freight Supervisor in carrying out their responsibilities, aligning with the Head of Road goal to enhance the company's competitiveness and profitability.
  • Understand and implement the department's vision for effective business development, focusing on successful Import/Export land freight operations, warehouse activities, and logistics services.
  • Manage client and subcontractor relationships in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ensure accurate and timely invoicing for all customers and clients, following SOP guidelines.
  • Complete all Import/Export processes correctly and on schedule, including financial, legal, and invoicing tasks.
  • Oversee the timely completion of all operational activities.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with sales teams, reporting new leads and handing over shipments.
  • Communicate quotations to the line manager or sales team within two hours of receipt, ensuring all quotes are documented in a standardised format.
  • Report internal leads to customer service and sales teams.
  • Collaborate with credit control to follow up on overdue customer payments.

Skills & Competencies:

  • At least 6 months of experience in a forwarding agent environment (import or export).
  • Previous experience as a Road Freight Operator or a similar role preferred .
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks independently while also working effectively as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in IT tools such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and CRM systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in administrative functions.
  • Strong analytically skills with a keen attention to detail.
