Supply Chain Planner
Our Tamworth based client is looking for a Supply Chain Planner to join their team on a 12-month fixed term contract.
Your role will be to use relevant software and available forecast information, maintain agreed stock levels of assigned Stock Keeping Units, placing orders with nominated suppliers and expediting delivery as required.
As a Supply Chain Planner, you will need to have/be:
- Able to work with complex data and maintain a keen eye for detail.
- Organised and enthusiastic, with a results-oriented approach.
- Ability to plan work, identify priorities early, and meet objectives.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in meeting tight and changeable deadlines with resilience and accuracy under pressure.
- Capable of reviewing work methods and proposing time- and cost-saving alternatives without compromising quality.
- Highly proficient in Excel and familiar with business software platforms such as Sage, Epicor, and Slimstock.
- Knowledge and understanding of import/export procedures and associated documentation.
- Experience in creating well-organised purchase orders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a helpful and collaborative attitude.
- Familiarity with booking logistics for Air, Sea, and Land shipments.

Role of Supply Chain Planner:
- Support the Supply Chain Manager in delivering a well-organised, highly trained supply chain function.
- Monitor sales forecasts and stock levels, adjusting orders to meet demand while considering lead times and warehouse capacity.
- Identify risks or variances and communicate them promptly to stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate data for stock balances, lead times, and product locations.
- Place and manage stock replenishment orders, including expediting or delaying deliveries as needed.
- Liaise with Procurement, Customer Services, Warehouse, and Suppliers to ensure smooth operations and maintain strong relationships.
- Assist in resolving supply or quality issues and optimising supply channels while controlling costs.
- Ensure records comply with company procedures and GDPR standards.
- Organise pre-shipment inspections, manage shipping/import documentation, and support international shipping processes.
- Validate supplier invoices for timely payment and provide support to Procurement and Inbound Logistics teams.
- Assist with departmental tasks and reporting as required, covering for colleagues when needed.
