Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for logistics and a knack for optimising transport operations? A leading UK distribution business is seeking a Transport Planner to join their centralised transport team based in Tamworth.
This is a key role responsible for planning and enhancing the performance of a nationwide multi-drop network, ensuring maximum fleet efficiency and compliance with transport regulations.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Plan daily routing and resource allocation across a multi-site network
- Maximise fleet utilisation and reduce delivery costs
- Process export orders and ensure timely fulfilment
- Maintain compliance with health & safety, driver hours, and transport legislation
- Contribute to network strategy through data analysis and scenario modelling
- Provide system support and generate performance reports
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and third-party transport providers
What We're Looking For:
- Strong knowledge of UK road network and national transport planning
- Understanding of EU driver hours and operator licensing requirements
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office; knowledge of Ortec or Microlise is a plus
- Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills
- Calm, logical thinker with the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Full UK driving licence required
