Reed Specialist Recruitment is working on behalf of a growing OEM client to find a proactive individual for a multifaceted engineering role. This position is an excellent opportunity for an engineering apprentice looking to transition into a production management and NPI-related role. It is crucial for the delivery of customer orders from New Product Introduction (NPI), through design to production and manufacturing setup. If you are looking to advance your career within projects and manufacturing, this is an excellent opportunity.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Manipulate designs using SolidWorks to meet project specifications.
  • Create and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) for projects.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Design and Manufacturing Departments.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of project materials and components.
  • Kit project parts and handle procurement of necessary materials.
  • Collaborate with the Project Management team to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • An engineering apprenticeship or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience working in an engineering environment, preferably in Machine Shop, Toolroom, or Assembly.
  • Strong understanding of technical principles and project management fundamentals.
  • Experience in providing quotations, estimates, or procurement.
  • Proficiency in business management systems including databases, ERP, and spreadsheets (Microsoft and Google systems).
  • Demonstrated ability to develop key customer relationships and operate in a commercial environment.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive and creative approach to problem-solving.
