SF recruitment are partnered exclusively with a fledgling manufacturing business to recruit a production manager. An exciting role to champion production process optimisation & continuous improvement within a fledgling business. A real opportunity for an experienced production manager to put their stamp on things.

Duties

  • Develop and implement production plans based on agreed forecasts, resource availability, and production capacity.
  • Collaborate with the purchasing department to ensure timely procurement of raw materials and components.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance production procedures to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and increase output.
  • Identify bottlenecks and implement lean manufacturing principles or automation tools where appropriate to streamline operations.
  • Work closely with the Quality Manager to enforce rigorous quality standards, ensuring products meet or exceed company and industry benchmarks.
  • Conduct regular inspections and take corrective actions based on trend analysis and customer feedback to address any quality issues.
  • Collaborate with the Health and Safety Manager to implement and maintain safety protocols, minimizing risks and preventing accidents.
  • Develop and manage production budgets, controlling costs while maintaining productivity levels.
  • Analyse production expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and present recommendations to the Management Board.
  • Lead initiatives to optimize processes, enhance productivity, and improve product quality.
  • Work closely with product development & sales team to expedite the production of new products, utilizing available production facilities and resources.
  • Recruit, train, and manage staff, including supervisors, to build a skilled and motivated workforce.
  • Set clear performance goals, conduct regular evaluations, and provide constructive feedback to enhance team performance.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Prepare regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs), production feedback, and areas for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate production records, including stock levels and any factors affecting production efficiency.
  • Take on additional responsibilities and tasks as needed, using your skills and expertise to adapt to the evolving nature of the role.
