This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience in education, particularly if you are considering a career in teaching. We are looking for enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to join our talent pool for various assignments. Whether you’re interested in short-term, long-term, or day-to-day roles, this is a great way to get hands-on experience while teaching a range of subjects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Classroom Management: Supervise and manage a classroom of students in the absence of their regular teacher.
  • Lesson Delivery: Follow lesson plans provided by the absent teacher and ensure students complete the set work.
  • Student Engagement: Maintain student engagement and ensure they are focused and working on tasks.
  • Behavior Management: Implement and enforce school behavior policies, addressing any issues that arise.
  • Support Learning: Provide assistance to students as needed, answering questions and facilitating their understanding of the lesson material.
  • Administrative Duties: Monitor and record student attendance, and report any incidents or issues to the school office.
  • Preparation and Organization: Prepare the classroom and materials as necessary, ensuring a conducive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS Certificate: Must hold an enhanced DBS check on the Update Service.
  • Experience with Children: Previous experience working with children, ideally in a classroom setting.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with students and staff.
  • Organisational Skills: Good organizational and time management skills to handle classroom activities and support needs.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to handle a range of subjects and adapt to different teaching environments.
  • Interest in Teaching: A keen interest in pursuing a career in teaching is advantageous.
