Our client that is headquartered in the Tamworth area is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their fun and vibrant team due to continued business growth. This role is mainly office based in Tamworth; However, it does involve travel to sites, and may require at times an overnight stay.

Role & Responsibilities:
- Gain an understanding of the project's specifications, pricing structures, programmes, and contractual conditions.
- Assist with the negotiation and finalization of contract documentation.
- Aid in supplier/subcontractor selection and evaluate offers.
- Place orders for suppliers/subcontractors in line with the terms and conditions agreed with the client.
- Manage all aspects of Supplier/Sub-contract commercial management, including variations and processing payment requests.
- Attend project-related meetings, documenting actions, agreements, and unresolved matters.
- Track progress by internal departments and external suppliers/subcontractors.
- Oversee daily company cost control and reporting systems.
- Manage change control, identifying, communicating, and costing changes.
- Analyze internal reporting systems and provide feedback on the quality and content of design, procurement, and construction documentation.
- Measure, value, submit, and negotiate contract variations with the client and supply chain.
- Liaise with clients on all commercial matters, ensuring timely provision of valuations, final accounts, and retention releases.
- Prepare monthly cost/valuation reports and cash flow for designated projects.
- Manage direct reports when required, ensuring clarity on expectations, performance standards, target achievement, and appropriate training.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in commercial and contractual management, including supplier/subcontractor negotiations and change management.
- Ability to handle cost control, budgeting, and financial reporting effectively.
- Understanding of project specifications, contractual conditions, and the ability to collaborate on pre-start planning and programming.
- Strong communication skills for managing internal and external relationships, reporting, and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Experience in measuring, valuing, and negotiating contract variations.
- Ability to manage and mentor direct reports and ensure the team meets performance and training requirements.
