Are you passionate about finance and eager to make a difference in education? My client is seeking a dedicated Finance Assistant to join their central Finance team.As a Finance Assistant, you'll play a key role in supporting financial operations across this group of schools. Reporting to the Finance Lead, you’ll handle daily finance tasks such as processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and assisting with month-end procedures. You'll also contribute to financial reporting, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.This role is based on site and the salary for this position is to £25KKey Responsibilities for this role include-
  • Processing purchase and sales invoices, payments, and reconciliations.
  • Supporting month-end tasks, including journal posting and bank reconciliations.
  • Assisting with asset management and depreciation recording.
  • Communicating with suppliers, customers, and school colleagues.
  • Providing guidance and support to academy staff on financial processes.
The ideal candidate for this role-Essential:
  • 5 GCSEs (A-C), including Maths and English.
  • Strong financial acumen and proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • A commitment to confidentiality and integrity.
Desirable:
  • AAT Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in finance, especially in education or the public sector.
  • Familiarity with procurement and audit processes.
