Location: Central Scotland and the West

Job Type: Full-time, permanent

Our client, a civil engineering contractor, seeks to enhance its team by appointing a skilled Estimator for a permanent position based in West Lothian.   The ideal candidate will work within the commercial team, showcasing commercial acumen and a track record in diverse civil engineering and groundwork contracts. Possessing robust technical knowledge, you should demonstrate proficiency in managing multiple projects concurrently.

As an Estimator your responsibilities will include:

  • Tender Identification & Management:
    • Identify suitable tenders for pricing.
    • Download and analyse tender documents.
    • Provide accurate, detailed quotations and prepare tender submissions.
  • Estimating & Documentation:
    • Collate necessary information and complete Bills of Quantities.
    • Log, track, and monitor tender submissions and successful bids.
  • Post-Award Handover:
    • Facilitate a seamless handover of contracts to our delivery teams, ensuring all relevant details are communicated.
    • Support administrative and filing tasks for the Estimating Team.

To thrive in this role, you should bring prior experience as an estimator in a civils environment and possess:

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 years in the construction industry, ideally in Estimating, Procurement, Civil Engineering, or Quantity Surveying roles.
  • Skills:
    • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Other:
    • Valid UK driving licence.
    • Proactive and responsible approach, with a positive "can-do" attitude.
    • Interest in professional growth and career advancement.
