Accounts Assistant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Accounts Assistant to manage the financial transactions for a rapidly growing organisation based in Cheshire. This role involves handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and invoicing. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with various teams to ensure timely and accurate financial processing.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Process supplier invoices and prepare weekly payment runs for Business Manager approval.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payments to suppliers based on approved invoices.
  • Raise client invoices based on information provided by Operations Managers, Coordinators, and the Business Manager.
  • Chase outstanding payments from clients and process customer remittances accurately.
  • Collect payroll information from the Timekeeper and prepare it for approval by the Business Manager.
  • Generate client invoices in accordance with operational requirements and ensure accuracy of billing.
  • Prepare cash flow predictions and reports to assist the Business Manager in financial planning.
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records.
  • Assist the Business Manager in preparing and submitting VAT returns in compliance with regulations.
  • Generate purchase orders as needed and maintain accurate records of purchasing activities.
  • Monitor and manage accounts, ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Assist the administrative team with various tasks as required, contributing to the overall efficiency of the office.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a similar Accounts Assistant role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel).
  • Can work independently.
