We are seeking an experienced Outdoor Educator to join our team, working with children aged 10 to 15 who have additional learning needs, including ASD. This role is ideal for someone with a background in outdoor education, forest school, or outdoor sports coaching. The position involves attending offsite provisions and actively engaging with students in a dynamic and supportive outdoor learning environment.

A wonderful facility that is continuously improving and puts their children at the heart of everything they do. Currently this facility looks after up to 40 pupils aged 10 to 15, providing space to grow and learn through engaging environments and subjects. Pupils have access to breakout spaces and a wonderful kitchen alongside their class rooms. Outside the school is a large area for play, additionally the school is in the process of building a forest school alongside workshops allowing access to more subjects.Â

Day-to-day of the role:- Plan and deliver engaging outdoor educational activities tailored to children with additional learning needs.
- Attend offsite provisions to facilitate outdoor learning experiences.
- Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students, particularly focusing on ASD.
- Monitor and support the personal and academic development of students through outdoor activities.
- Ensure all activities are safe and comply with health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with other educational professionals to plan and coordinate lessons and activities.
- Proven experience in outdoor education, forest school, or outdoor sports coaching.
- Strong experience working with children aged 10 to 15, particularly those with ASD.
- Ability to create and adapt educational activities that cater to various learning needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for outdoor education and a commitment to student development.
- Relevant certifications in outdoor education or sports coaching are highly desirable.
