JOB TITLE: Temporary Bookkeeper

LOCATION: Taunton (Hybrid working - 2 days in office / 3 days at home)

HOURLY RATE: £15.00 - £20.00 per hour (Dependant on experience)

HOURS: Full time hours - 9am - 5pm (30 minutes lunch)

We are seeking a Temporary Bookkeeper to support the in the delivery of financial administration, accounting, and budgeting. You will be joining a friendly and close knit team who provide support and guidance to individuals within the public sector.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Processing of cheques, direct bank credits, coding and posting to the financial system, updating database and spreadsheet records as necessary.
  • Assisting with the monitoring, management, and collection of aged debts.
  • Liaising with colleagues to ensure that all income is invoiced promptly and accurately.
  • Preparation of event finance reports, providing predicted event outturn reports.
  • Assisting with the preparation of annual end of year report and accounts.
  • Assisting with the preparation of statutory accounting returns to Companies House, HMRC, and the Society's pension provider.
  • Overseeing the management of banking and cashflow arrangements.
  • Managing and overseeing the issue of invoices, payment of accounts, and collection of monies due.

KEY SKILLS:

  • Finance, budgeting, accounting, management accounting, and reporting experience.
  • AAT Level 4 (or working towards).
  • Ability to use accounts software packages - specifically SAGE 50c.
  • Competent with data entry, strong ICT skills - advanced Excel skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication skills and strong customer service skills.
  • Honesty and integrity.
  • A flexible approach with the ability to deliver work on own initiative and under pressure.
