Job Title: Commercial Manager

Location: Taunton outskirts (due to the rural location, having your own transport is essential)

Salary: Up to £42,500 PA

Hours: Full time, 9am - 5pm Monday to Thursday and 9am - 4pm Friday (36.5 hours per week)

The Role:

Are you an experienced Commercial Manager with a passion for driving profitable growth? Our client, an industry-leading organisation, is seeking a talented individual to join their team as a Commercial Manager. Our client has established themselves as a renowned supplier of high-quality products to a diverse range of customers worldwide.

As the Commercial Manager, you will play a crucial role in developing and executing an international sales strategy to achieve ambitious commercial targets. Drawing on your proven track record as a commercial leader, you will drive exceptional customer service and ensure the continued growth of our client's business. Knowledge of export sales will be highly desirable in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a team of account managers responsible for maintaining relationships with key UK and global customers.
  • Personally manage a select portfolio of high-priority clients, ensuring exceptional customer service.
  • Identify and leverage strategic business opportunities to drive commercial success.
  • Seek out and implement marketing and communication strategies to strengthen industry presence and credibility.
  • Lead international sales operations, collaborating with the International Sales Manager to develop and execute a robust global sales strategy.
  • Provide leadership and tackle challenges across the organisation, addressing obstacles, streamlining processes, and fostering growth.
  • Establish and uphold best practices for account management by developing structured workflows that ensure all customers are engaged, empowering the team to meet these standards.
  • Act as a stand-in for the Head of Sales and Business Development when necessary.
  • Engage in occasional international travel (up to four trips per year, including one potential long haul trip) to connect with key clients and represent the company at trade events.

Knowledge / Experience / Qualities:

  • Proven experience in managing teams and leading with confidence.
  • Expertise in commercial sales negotiations and account management.
  • Solid understanding of international trade practices.
  • Proficient in analysing data and developing business strategies.
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Office Suite effectively.
