The ideal candidate for this role would hold a strong understanding of Electrical Wiring and Installation, alongside managing certification, ensuring safety protocols are adhered to and compliance is managed for hazardous areas.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure all projects meet NICEIC standards, including certification and inspection requirements.
- Implement and enforce Hazardous Area Regulations (DSEAR, ATEX) compliance for installations in explosive or high-risk environments.
- Verify electrical installations align with the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671:2018) and current UK safety standards.
- Oversee and manage certifications for Qualified Supervisor (NIC QS) and Principal Duty Holder (NIC PDH), ensuring adherence to NICEIC standards.
- Conduct and supervise routine inspection and testing of electrical systems to ensure compliance with Test and Inspect standards.
- Perform audits and inspections in hazardous areas, ensuring installations meet CompEX certification (09-10, 01-04, or 14) requirements.
- Address compliance issues promptly, implementing corrective actions in coordination with relevant teams.
- Develop and deliver training programs on NICEIC standards, with a focus on hazardous environments.
- Create and maintain compliance policies in alignment with NICEIC standards, DSEAR, ATEX, and the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- Maintain thorough records of inspections, certifications, and testing for audit and regulatory purposes.
- Monitor legislative updates to ensure ongoing compliance with industry standards.
- Conduct internal audits to ensure adherence to NICEIC, DSEAR, ATEX, and related standards.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance safety and compliance.
- Prepare for and support external audits by NICEIC and other regulatory authorities.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with NICEIC standards and the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671:2018).
- Manage compliance with DSEAR and ATEX directives, ensuring risks in hazardous environments are effectively controlled.
- Develop emergency response protocols and train staff in evacuation, first aid, and safe equipment handling.
- Extensive knowledge of the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671:2018).
- NICEIC Qualified Supervisor.
