Customer Service Specialist

Somerset Council are looking for a Customer Service Specialist to join their Lifeline Team. This will be to cover shifts on a 24/7 rota, an enhanced rate is payable for hours between 8pm and 6am

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to all contacts from Somerset Council, including safeguarding from Adults and Children's and will be required to take relevant details and pass onto a colleague within the Customer Contact Team
  • Assess the needs of each contact through active listening, questioning and some scripts to provide the necessary information, guidance, support or services
  • Record in the appropriate system all customer data and service requirements and where required work-flow to the appropriate individual or team
  • Review information held on systems and/or website to identify accurate information

Requirements:

  • Experience of working in a customer service environment or call centre
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Ability to work as part of a team or under own direction
