Are you an experienced ecologist looking to take the next step? We're seeking a Consultant Ecologist to join a leading ecological consultancy, working on diverse projects across the Southwest. This role offers the chance to lead surveys, manage projects, and support junior team members, all while enjoying flexible working and great career growth opportunities.



The Role:

  • Lead ecological surveys for protected species (bats, birds, reptiles, newts, etc.).
  • Conduct UKHab surveys and Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) assessments.
  • Prepare ecological reports, impact assessments, and mitigation plans.
  • Provide expert advice to clients, ensuring compliance with wildlife legislation.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to business growth.


What You Need:

  • A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • A NE bat survey licence (Level 1 or above) or equivalent protected species licence.
  • At least 2 years' experience in ecological consultancy or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of BNG.
  • Experience in report writing, GIS (QGIS preferred), and ecological surveying.
  • A full UK driving licence.
