Role - Regional People Advisor

  • Job Type: Full-time or Part – time, four days considered
  • Location: Bridgwater, Plymouth, with ad-hoc support in Edinburgh
  • Salary: c£38,000 PA

We are seeking a Regional People Advisor to provide generalist HR support across multiple sites. This role involves a wide range of HR activities, from day-to-day support and advice to line managers and employees, to involvement in complex HR projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR practices and a deep understanding of UK employment law.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety, environmental legislation, and regulations.
  • Provide advice and support on HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation, including performance management, discipline, and grievance issues.
  • Serve as a key contact for stakeholders regarding employment conditions, salary, benefits, and employee relations.
  • Proactively manage live employee relations issues and long-term absence cases.
  • Offer guidance on immigration issues ensuring compliance with UKBA licence requirements.
  • Assist with resourcing and recruitment, including creating job descriptions, conducting interviews, and managing recruitment requisitions.
  • Support organisational changes such as reorganisation, redeployment, redundancy, and TUPE transfers.
  • Prepare documentation for Employment Tribunals and conduct exit interviews.
  • Handle complex compensation and benefit queries and support HR projects.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders, including clients and other construction trades.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated on HR trends and legislation.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a HR/People Advisor role.
  • Strong knowledge of UK Employment Law and legislation.
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and remain flexible with changing priorities.
