Service Care Solutions is working alongside an employee-focused local authority, based in Somerset, which is seeking a highly skilled and experienced housing litigation lawyer to join their dynamic legal team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact while providing essential legal services in housing matters.
The role can pay an hourly rate of 55-60ph umbrella. This is a three month rolling assignment and can operate on a hybrid basis. The hourly rate offered will depend on experience and interview performance.
Key Responsibilities Of The Housing Litigation Lawyer Role:
- Offering expert legal guidance to the Council's in-house housing team and its ALMO (Arms-Length Management Organisation) in accordance with Service Level Agreements.
- Leading and conducting litigation across a range of housing matters, including: proceedings, anti-social behaviour injunctions and possession proceedings, access injunctions, housing disrepair claims, succession and tenancy-related issues
- General litigation, including debt recovery, charging orders, and CIL liability orders
Requirements:
- Qualified Lawyer: You will be a qualified solicitor or legal professional with experience in housing law and litigation.
- Experience in Housing Law: A sound understanding of the legal issues facing local authorities in the housing sector, including a proven track record in managing and litigating possession proceedings, tenancy disputes, and disrepair claims.
- Litigation Expertise: Experience handling complex litigation cases with a focus on housing, debt recovery, and injunctions.
