Organisation:

Reed Tutors are working in collaboration with Somerset Local Authority.

We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced 1:1 SEND Tutor.

This role is dedicated to supporting a 17-year-old student with a Microdeletion of Chromosome 15, who requires tailored academic tuition and mentoring to address Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Role Overview:

As a 1:1 SEND Tutor, you will work with the student for 10 hours per week, providing both educational support and SEMH-focused mentoring. The successful candidate will have the ability to create an inclusive, adaptive learning environment that fosters the student’s confidence, social skills, and academic growth.

Location:

Postcode is TA6 area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Individualised Tuition: Provide 10 hours of weekly one-on-one tuition in a supportive and structured setting.

• Mentoring and SEMH Support: Engage in mentoring to meet the student’s SEMH needs, supporting their emotional and social development.

• Adaptable Teaching Approach: Tailor your teaching methods to accommodate the student’s unique learning pace and needs.

Requirements:

• Experience: Demonstrated experience working with SEND students, especially those with SEMH needs.

• Qualifications: Relevant teaching or tutoring qualifications are highly desirable.

• DBS Check: An enhanced DBS on the Update Service is essential for this role.

Rate of Pay:

• £30-£35 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
