Quality Auditor (Factory)

Reed Food & FMCG are currently recruiting for a Quality Auditor to join a Food Manufacturing company in Taunton. This role is crucial for maintaining high standards of food safety and quality within the production environment. The Quality Auditor will be responsible for conducting various checks, audits, and training to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Create and verify labels for High Risk production areas daily.
  • Perform internal audits 1-2 times weekly to ensure compliance with food safety and legality standards.
  • Ensure staff adherence to personal hygiene and factory cleaning procedures.
  • Distribute and file cleaning sheets for production areas weekly.
  • Calibrate and ensure proper functioning of equipment such as scales, gas analysers, and probes, either directly or by overseeing trained staff.
  • Execute product sampling and environmental swabbing, collating and trending the results.
  • Audit production paperwork for completeness and accuracy, ensuring quality checks are performed correctly.
  • Manage production paperwork supplies and assist with audits, customer visits, and product traces.
  • Support staff training initiatives and maintain up-to-date training records.
  • Assist the Quality & Training Manager and Production Managers in maintaining readiness for audits and ensuring continuous adherence to quality standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a quality control or auditing role within a production or manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry.
  • Strong understanding of food safety regulations and quality assurance principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify and address non-conformances.
  • Competency in using various calibration and testing equipment.
  • Ability to train and guide staff on quality and safety procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage documentation and conduct thorough audits.
