ASSISTANT QUANTITY SURVEYOR

Job Description: They are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the financial management of their highway maintenance projects, ensuring cost efficiency and adherence to budgets. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare cost estimates and budgets for highway maintenance projects.
- Monitor and control project costs to ensure they remain within budget.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and ensure accurate cost reporting.
- Prepare and submit monthly valuations and final accounts.
- Manage subcontractor and supplier accounts, including reviewing and approving invoices.
- Assist in the procurement of materials and subcontractors.
- Provide financial advice and support to project managers and other stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with contractual and legal obligations.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the highways or civil engineering sector.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, including NEC and JCT.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
- Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK driving license.
