ASSISTANT QUANTITY SURVEYOR

Job Description: They are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the financial management of their highway maintenance projects, ensuring cost efficiency and adherence to budgets. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-profile projects and develop your career within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare cost estimates and budgets for highway maintenance projects.
  • Monitor and control project costs to ensure they remain within budget.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and ensure accurate cost reporting.
  • Prepare and submit monthly valuations and final accounts.
  • Manage subcontractor and supplier accounts, including reviewing and approving invoices.
  • Assist in the procurement of materials and subcontractors.
  • Provide financial advice and support to project managers and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual and legal obligations.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the highways or civil engineering sector.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, including NEC and JCT.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
  • Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Full UK driving license.
