Junior Quantity Surveyor

Hawk 3 Talent Solutions is hiring on behalf of their client for a Junior Quantity Surveyor (Commercial Interiors) & Hybrid. The location of the office is Taunton Somerset. You will be covering the South West and so you need to be a car driver. The annual salary is circa £30,000 PA DOE.

Role Overview: We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven Junior QS to join our growing team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to learn about the commercial interiors industry by working closely with our Commercial Team. 

Reporting to the Commercial Lead you will be responsible for linking the commercial team and project management teams to ensure successful delivery of projects. Assisting both departments with estimating costs, quantities, and project timelines. When required you can also assist with client communications. You will be liaising with a variety of stakeholders both internally and externally from the business. Attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and being tenacious is essential within this role. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Reviewing contracts at tender stage
  • Estimating and pricing of tenders
  • Assisting in cash flow projections
  • Managing contract matters which includes requesting extension of time and RFIs. 
  • Can be client facing when required to help PM. 
  • Complete cost analysis before placing orders.
  • Place labour sub-contractor orders. 
  • Costing and preparing variations for client approvals. 
  • Providing valuation documents in line with contract. 
  • Complete site visits & inspections. 
  • Reviewing and managing subcontractor accounts
  • Help complete cost reporting and re-costing of projects.

  • Ability to work well under pressure and use your initiative.
  • Resilience and determination
  • Good teamworking and motivation skills
  • Strong IT skills
